A quick exit slip for the end of a kindergarten pushes and pulls lesson. Each slip has a name line and two prompts: name one thing you can push, and name one thing you can pull. A row of five faces follows, from angry to very happy, for how the student feels about the day. The slip repeats three times on the sheet, so you can cut one copy for three students. It checks the basic push and pull idea behind NGSS K-PS2-1.

Exit ticket
Hand out the slips as students line up. Students who cannot write yet can draw the object or tell you its name.
Sort the slips
After class, sort the slips by whether both answers are correct. The pile of wrong answers is your small group for the next lesson.
Read the faces
Look at the faces as well as the answers. A student who picks the angry face and leaves both lines blank may need a quiet check-in.
