Do ship together with the dot and dash, then let students try math. The th at the end trips students who expect a digraph only at the start.

Guided reading table

The bathtub picture has a duck in it, and duck is also the answer to number 2. Say bath slowly with students and point to the ba_____ letters before they write.

Handwriting tie-in

Use the copied sentence as a quick check on the capital C and the period. Move it to the handwriting block if time runs short.
