Story Matches has kindergarten students connect story characters to where they belong and what they do. First they draw lines from a firefighter, a farmer, an astronaut, and a princess to four settings. Next, a baker, a pirate, and a king match to events such as finding treasure. The sheet ends with a two-sentence read-aloud about a green frog in a quiet pond, and students circle its character and setting. Every match and both circle answers are in the answer key. The standard is Common Core RL.K.3.
