Section 2 End Punctuation

A reminder of telling, asking and strong feeling sentences, then four sentences with three end marks to choose from.

Section 3 Fix Both

Students rewrite "did mia win the game", "the party is on saturday" and "look out, ben" with capitals and end marks.

Section 4 Proofread the Note

A three-line note, "hi emma", "do you want to play on tuesday" and "from, noah", to rewrite correctly.

How teachers use it

Proofreading station

Section 4 says the note has four mistakes, but every line also starts with a lowercase letter. Tell students to fix all they find, not stop at four.

Name or word

Students often miss may as a month, because they know it as an ordinary word. Talk about it before Section 1.

Read with the right voice

Say the Section 2 sentences flat, rising or excited. Students pick the end mark by ear before they check a box.
