Four illustrated subtraction stories make up this kindergarten math worksheet for the Common Core standards K.OA.1 and K.OA.2. Each story pairs a picture with a take-away situation: 5 ducks and 2 swim away, 6 apples and a bunny eats 2, 4 frogs and 1 hops into the water, 7 balloons and 5 float into the sky. Students draw an X on each item that goes away, count what remains, and complete equations from 5 - 2 down to 7 - 5. The answer key gives each difference along with how many items should carry an X.
