About this worksheet
A two-circle Venn diagram sorts six labeled shapes on this 2nd grade page for Common Core 2.G.1: the left circle collects shapes with exactly 4 sides, the right collects shapes with square corners, and the overlap wants both. Students inspect a square, a right triangle, a trapezoid, a rectangle, a hexagon and an equilateral triangle, then place the letters A to F. The sort splits cleanly: square and rectangle share the middle, the trapezoid holds the left alone, the right triangle holds the right, and the hexagon and plain triangle land outside. Three writing prompts follow, including drawing a new shape for the left circle.
