Story Writing Challenge: What Happens Next?

Year 1 EnglishWriting3 pages

About this worksheet

A three-page story-writing challenge for confident Year 1 writers. A short opening tells how Mia gets off a big red bus, walks home and finds that her teddy has been left on the bus seat. Pupils answer three planning questions for the beginning, middle and end, look at a bank of twelve words and then write at least five sentences on the last page. The word and is printed in bold through the opening, the task and the word bank, so pupils notice it as a joining word. It follows the England National Curriculum for Year 1 writing composition.
