If Chalkie isn't right for you, we'll make it easy to leave. We offer a full refund within 14 days of your initial purchase, no questions asked. After that window, we don't offer refunds as a matter of course, but we do review exceptional circumstances on a case-by-case basis. If something major has changed in your life, please get in touch.
1. Monthly Subscriptions
You can request a full refund within 14 days of your first payment. After that, your subscription will simply not renew at the end of the current billing period when cancelled.
No partial refunds are issued for unused time within a month.
2. Annual Subscriptions
You can request a full refund within 14 days of payment. After the 14-day window, annual subscriptions are non-refundable.
You'll retain full access until the end of your subscription year. Exceptional circumstances are reviewed on request.
3. Requesting a Refund
Get in touch with us and we'll handle it promptly. Refunds are typically processed within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or payment provider.
Step 1: Email us at support@chalkie.ai with your account email and the reason for your request.
Step 2: We'll confirm your eligibility and process the refund. No lengthy back-and-forth needed within the 14-day window.
Step 3: Refunds are returned to your original payment method within 5–10 business days.
4. Exceptional Circumstances
We understand that life happens. After the 14-day period, we may issue a refund at our discretion in genuinely exceptional circumstances. Examples of situations we would consider include:
• Unexpected job loss or redundancy that affects your ability to use the service
• Serious illness or medical emergency
• Bereavement
• A significant technical failure on our part that prevented you from accessing the service
These are assessed individually and compassionately. Please reach out to support@chalkie.ai and explain your situation and we'll do our best to help.
5. What Isn't Covered
To keep things clear, here's what falls outside our refund policy:
• Requests made more than 14 days after initial purchase (except exceptional circumstances above)
• Renewal charges where the 24-hour grace period has passed (see below)
• Charges resulting from a previously failed and retried payment (see below)
• Partial refunds for unused time on a monthly plan
• Refunds where the account has been suspended due to a breach of our Terms of Service
• Change of mind after the 14-day window on an annual plan
6. 24-Hour Renewal Grace Period
If your subscription renews automatically and you decide Chalkie is no longer for you, you can request a full refund within 24 hours of the renewal charge being processed. Contact us at support@chalkie.ai within that window and we'll take care of it.
This grace period applies only where payment was successfully processed on the scheduled renewal date. It does not apply to charges resulting from a previously failed payment attempt.
7. Failed and Retried Payments
If a payment fails, we will attempt to collect the outstanding amount over a series of retry attempts. Your access to Chalkie continues uninterrupted during this period. Where a retry is successful, that charge is not eligible for a refund under the 24-hour grace period. Because your access was maintained throughout, the successful charge does not constitute an unexpected renewal. Your rights under the rest of this policy continue to apply.
If all retry attempts fail, your account will be suspended and you will be notified by email. You will have a reasonable opportunity to update your payment details and restore access before your account is cancelled.
8. Cancelling Your Subscription
You can cancel your Chalkie subscription at any time from your account settings. Your access continues until the end of your current billing period. No cancellation fees apply.
9. EU/EEA Consumer Rights
Under the EU Consumer Rights Directive, you have the right to withdraw from your subscription within 14 calendar days of purchase without giving any reason. This right applies to your first payment.
By starting to use Chalkie immediately after sign-up, you acknowledge that the service has begun and understand this does not affect your statutory 14-day withdrawal right.
