Students write five part names from the word bank on lines A to E: Guide Words, Entry Word, Part of Speech, Definition and Example Sentence. It suits a first lesson on beginning dictionaries under Common Core L.2.4e. The answer key lists the labels from A (Guide Words) to E (Example Sentence).

Line C points to noun, the label students know least. Tell them it says what kind of word it is, such as noun or verb.
