How teachers use it

Oral rehearsal

Pupils say the joined sentence to a partner before they write it, then check that it makes sense when read back.

More than one answer

Pairs 1 and 3 work with several conjunctions. Ask pupils to find a second answer and say how the meaning changes.

Marking Part 2

Treat the sample endings as a guide only. Check that each ending fits its conjunction and that the sentence ends with a full stop.
