How teachers use it

Whole-class warm-up

Read sentences 1 to 5 aloud and ask pupils to clap when they hear the conjunction. Then ask which word joins the two halves.

Sorting in pairs

Write the ten words on cards and let pairs sort them before they fill in the table. Expect a debate over so and if.

Follow-up writing

Ask pupils to write a new sentence for each word in the Other box.
