Pupils write the name on the line under each picture. Name Each 3D Shape

Seven numbered pictures with the word bank above them and two writing lines under each.

3D Shapes Around Us

Seven objects to name by shape: a dice, cereal box, tin of beans, ice cream cone, football, toy tent and toy pyramid.

Answers

Both parts, numbered 1 to 7, including cuboid for the cereal box and triangular prism for the toy tent.

How teachers use it

Shape hunt first

Put a tin, a box and a ball on the table and ask pupils to name each shape before they open page 1.

Cube or cuboid

Point at the dice and the cereal box and ask what makes them different. Pupils usually say the faces are not all the same.

Home task

Send page 2 home and ask pupils to find one more object for any three of the shapes in the word bank.
