Use this the day after a bald eagle read-aloud. Students who heard the facts once fill the table in a few minutes and have time for the Did You Know box.

Research center

Put a nonfiction eagle book at the center. Stronger readers skip copying the fact and find a new one, such as how big an eagle's nest is.

Watch for

Some students put fish under Where it lives. Point to the picture of the eagle on the branch and ask where the bird is sitting.
