Seasonal Changes Knowledge Organiser

Year 1 ScienceSeasonal Changes1 page

About this worksheet

A one-page Year 1 knowledge organiser for seasonal changes. At the top, four pictures of the same tree show it in spring blossom, full summer leaf, orange autumn colour and bare winter branches, with arrows to show the order. Below are five key words, from season to evergreen, each with a short meaning. A second box gives three facts for each season, such as days are the longest in summer. Four questions close the page. There is no answer key, because the answers are on the organiser itself. It follows the England National Curriculum for seasonal changes.

Curriculum objectives covered

Seasonal changes

โ€œObserve and describe weather associated with the seasons and how day length varies.โ€

Each season's box says whether the air gets warmer or cooler and whether days get longer or shorter. Questions 2 and 3 check day length.

Seasonal changes

โ€œObserve changes across the four seasonsโ€

The tree pictures show one tree in all four seasons, and question 4 asks about leaves in autumn. Pupils still need to watch the seasons change outside; the organiser is a reference.
