About this worksheet
Twelve trees go into two columns on this three-page Year 1 plants sheet. A reminder box explains that deciduous trees lose their leaves in autumn and evergreen trees keep them all year. A picture shows a bare oak dropping golden leaves next to a dark green pine. Pupils sort names such as oak, holly, yew and horse chestnut, six into each column. Two questions follow: which tree was hardest to place, and one new tree for each side. The answer key gives the sort and notes that holly and laurel often trip pupils up. It follows the England National Curriculum for plants.
