Human Body Parts Labelling

Year 1 ScienceAnimals Including Humans3 pages

About this worksheet

A Year 1 labelling sheet on the parts of the body, over three pages. Page 1 holds the instruction and a word bank of six words: hand, foot, tummy, head, leg and arm. Page 2 is a picture of a boy standing front-on, with six arrows marked A to F and a line beside each. Pupils write the right body part on each line. The word bank and the picture print on separate pages. The answer key on page 3 runs from A, head, to F, foot. It follows the England National Curriculum for animals, including humans.

Curriculum objectives covered

Animals, including humans

โ€œIdentify, name, draw and label the basic parts of the human body and say which part of the body is associated with each sense.โ€

Pupils name and label six body parts. They do not draw a body or link any part to a sense, so that half needs a separate activity.

A boy in a green T-shirt and blue shorts, with arrows A to F pointing to his head, an arm, his tummy, a hand, a leg and a foot. The A arrow touches his hair.

How teachers use it

Warm-up

Play a quick round of Simon says with head, arm, tummy, hand, leg and foot before pupils pick up a pencil.

Printing

Print pages 1 and 2 back to back, or cut out the word bank and stick it next to the picture, so pupils see both at once.

Senses follow-on

When the six labels are done, ask pupils to draw in eyes, ears and a nose and say which sense goes with each.
