Word cards for Year 1 based on words from nursery rhymes. A worked example for star (with car, far and jar as rhymes) shows the layout. Pupils then fill in the same four boxes for crown, mouse and wall: what it means, a picture, a rhyming word and a sentence. Hints steer the rhymes, such as brown or down for crown. Over three pages, the answer key links the words back to Jack and Jill and Humpty Dumpty. It follows England National Curriculum comprehension.
