Nine lettered statements, A to I, make up this 3rd grade compare sheet on frog and butterfly life cycles. Students write each letter in the frog section, the butterfly section, or the shared section of a diagram. Some facts are unique, such as a young stage called a tadpole or a rest inside a chrysalis. Others, like starting as an egg, belong to both. It supports NGSS 3-LS1-1, and the key sorts all nine letters.

Frog gets B, E, and H. Butterfly gets C, D, and G. Both get A, F, and I.
After both animals
Give this once students have studied frogs and butterflies separately. It pulls the two lessons together in about ten minutes.
