About this worksheet
Four length stories, four blank equation lines, and a rotating cast: Maya tapes a 24-inch blue ribbon to an 18-inch yellow one, Leo's pet lizard grows from 16 to 35 centimeters, Marcus cuts 28 centimeters from 72 centimeters of craft wire, and Nina's 56-inch block tower stands over Ben's 39-inch build. Each problem prints the same three lines: an equation with a ? for the unknown, show your work, and an answer labeled in inches or centimeters. The lizard puts the unknown in the middle (16 + ? = 35), so 2nd graders meet the structure Common Core 2.MD.5 asks for in more than one position.
