Six vertical addition frames open this 2nd grade regrouping worksheet, each with a small box above the tens column for the carried ten: 38 + 25, 47 + 16, 59 + 24, 26 + 37, 65 + 18 and 44 + 39. Every one of them regroups, so nobody coasts on easy items. Two story problems follow, Sammy the Squirrel's 27 + 35 acorns and a class library of 46 fiction plus 28 non-fiction books, and the sheet ends with a riddle in which four sums convert to letters that spell FROG. The answer key narrates each regroup ones first, the routine Common Core 2.NBT.5 expects.
