About this worksheet
Sorting, pairing and doubles equations cover the whole of Common Core 2.OA.3 in one 2nd grade worksheet. Students first drop ten numbers from a bank (3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 8, 14, 17, 18 and 11) into even and odd columns. They then study two pictures: twelve apples arranged in pairs and seven acorns with one sitting alone. For each they count, tick whether every object has a partner, and either write the doubles fact 6 + 6 = 12 or explain the leftover acorn. The last section turns even numbers into equal addends, completing 8, 14, 16 and 20 as doubles.
