Vikings and Anglo-Saxons

About this worksheet

Vikings and Anglo-Saxons come together in this Year 5 history review, in five sections. Pupils order five events, from the Roman withdrawal to the death of Edward the Confessor. They study two artefacts, a ceremonial helmet and a clinker-built ship, and sort Grimsby, Birmingham, Scunthorpe and Southampton by the origin of their endings. Four multiple-choice questions test Danegeld, Lindisfarne, wergild and the Danelaw. A final written answer asks why both peoples crossed the North Sea. The answer key adds dates to the timeline. The review draws on two KS2 history objectives in the England National Curriculum.
