About this worksheet

Pupils play a film director pitching a new animated movie in this two-page Year 4 English planning sheet. Three brainstorming questions cover the main character's goal, the opening setting and the main problem. Pupils then sketch six story moments on a Story Mountain storyboard, from Opening to Ending, and write a caption for each. The director's note says captions must explain why things happen, and stick figures are fine. The task supports the England National Curriculum writing composition objectives.
