Inverted commas are the only topic on this three-page Year 3 knowledge check. Pupils circle the inverted commas in Grandma's line about cake, then tick the two correct sentences out of four. They add inverted commas to lines from the hare, Ben and Sarah, and add the missing end punctuation for Mum and David. The last section asks for two lines of speech between an astronaut and an alien. The answer key covers all nine questions, and the sheet follows the England National Curriculum objective on direct speech.
