Last five minutes
Cut the slips apart before the lesson. Each one takes about five minutes, so hand them out as students pack up. The drawing space is tight, so a quick sketch or one word is enough.
Sort the answers
Sort the finished slips into safe rules and kind rules. A child who draws the same rule in both boxes may need another talk about the difference.
Check the faces
Look at the feelings row before you file the slips. A frown on a rules day can point to a problem at recess worth a quiet chat.
