Read it through
Have students read the whole story once before they fill any blank. The needs and wants pair at the end is easier once they know the fancy pizza line is coming.
Vocabulary check
Blanks 5 and 6 tell you the most. Students who swap capital and human still think of workers as tools, so go back to the line about tools made by people.
Spare minutes
Question 1 makes a good early finisher task. Ask for a sentence with each leftover word, savings and trade, instead of one.
