Habitats KWL Chart

About this worksheet

A Year 2 science starter for a habitats lesson, set against the England National Curriculum. It opens by defining a habitat as a home that gives food, water and shelter. Four retrieval questions follow: pick the polar bear for a cold habitat, tick three needs from a list with a television set and warm socks in it, name a minibeast from under a log, and say true or false about a cactus storing water. The KWL chart comes last. Pupils fill in what they know and want to know, then leave the third column until the end of the lesson. An answer key is included.
